New interactive experience for Sky Tower visitors

Visitors to Auckland’s Sky Tower can now be part of an interactive, self-guided experience thanks to the introduction of the STQRY smartphone app – which presents the opportunity to view key facts and information about several of the city’s landmarks.

STQRY can be downloaded at no cost via the Sky Tower's free Wi-Fi service and allows visitors to scan QR codes throughout the Tower's Main Observation Level, to learn more about popular attractions across the city.

The additional information includes photo galleries, facts and statistics on landmarks visible from the Sky Tower; including Rangitoto Island, One Tree Hill and Devonport Naval Base. Visitors can also learn more about the Sky Tower itself, with the app also housing information about the southern hemisphere's tallest man-made structure.

Sky Tower Operations Manager, Tava Feagaiga, says the new STQRY app means that visitors can do more than just enjoy the view, but can also discover information about Auckland's history, landscape and the Sky Tower.

Feagaiga explains "we're always looking at ways that we can offer our customers a unique, memorable experience, and STQRY certainly helps us do this.

“There is no better place to capture Auckland's stunning views and landscapes than from the Sky Tower and we're really pleased to be able to offer our customers the chance to take part in Auckland's history and learn more about our amazing landmarks, through this new interactive experience.”
