New fitness park and free outdoor fitness training for western Sydney
Fairfield City Council, located in western Sydney is delivering a $4.2 million ‘fitness park’ for its community recognising the need to provide opportunities to lead healthier, more active lives.
The fitness park is located on the corner of Avenel and Sackville streets in Canley Vale with works steadily progressing. Once complete the fitness park will offer a vast upgrade and expansion on the existing standard outdoor exercise stations, introducing a new skatepark, ninja obstacle course, multi-sports court and walking circuit to provide a range of multi-generational activities for local residents.
The project is an embellishment of an underutilised public open space offering a greater range of informal recreational opportunities in Fairfield City and meets the growing need for multi-generational adventure-focused exercise facilities that will promote community health, connection and vibrancy.
By creating more fitness opportunities across the City, Council notes it aims “to make it easier for everyone to incorporate physical activity into their daily lives, regardless of age or fitness level.”
