New campaign launched to create a safer Centennial Parklands
Love the Park, Share the Park is a new initiative that encourages visitors to share Centennial Parklands’ spaces and facilities in a respectful and responsible manner.
Share the Park focuses on simple ways that we can all help to keep the Parklands safe, accessible and enjoyable for each other.
Introducing the campaign, Parklands and Botanic Gardens Sydney Executive Director Kim Ellis explains “if you love the Park, share the Park – it’s that simple. Centennial Parklands is a wonderful public space and we all have a role to play to ensure it remains safe, accessible and enjoyed by all that come here,” said Kim Ellis, Executive Director, Sydney’s Parklands and Botanic Gardens.
“Like all great parks in the world, Centennial Parklands has rules and regulations for the benefit of its visitors to help protect the Parklands’ environment and the millions of visitors that come.”
“Small changes can make a big difference. This is already a place loved by many, and we want each visitors experience to be the best it can. To do this, however, we need everyone to be involved.”
“While we all have the right to expect a safe and enjoyable visitor experience, we equally have the responsibility to allow that safety and enjoyment for others.”
Visitors to the Parklands are encouraged to visit the Share the Park page and to:
• Respect the Park and other park visitors by adhering to a set of simple rules; and
• Share the information with family, friends or colleagues on Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels.
