Netball to extend reach with new community program
Netball Australia is aiming to extend its reach to new communities and participants with the launch of the Australia Post One Netball Community Program.
To be delivered in partnership with Australia Post, the program aims to promote inclusion and utilise the power of netball to attract, mobilise and inspire individuals and communities to encourage long-term involvement in the sport as players, coaches, umpires, administrators, volunteers and fans.
The recent launch outlined a series of new initiatives that will be rolled out this year, including the establishment of the One Netball Round in the ANZ Championship, five Australia Post One Netball Ambassadors and a One Netball website, dedicated to sharing stories and resources that promote diversity and inclusion within communities.
The program’s five high profile ambassadors, Geva Mentor (Melbourne Vixens), Kim Green (NSW Swifts), Rebecca Bulley (Adelaide Thunderbirds), Clare McMeniman (QLD Firebirds) and Josie Janz (West Coast Fever) will help inspire the next generation as role models to the netball community to encourage participation in the sport.
