Move-It Hedland program relaunched

As a result of popular demand, the Town of Port Hedland and the YMCA relaunched the Move-It Hedland program on Monday 17th June.

Over 80 people participated in the inaugural program which was introduced earlier this year, and was focused on increasing fitness, learning correct exercise techniques and maintaining a healthy diet and balanced lifestyle.

The Town and YMCA have contributed funding towards the program, resulting in affordable costs at $7 for casual attendance, $56 for a 10 session pass, and free for YMCA Platinum and Group Fitness members.

Payment will commence from 1st July 2013.

Announcing the relaunch of the program, Porth Hedland Mayor Kelly Howlett explained "the Town is pleased to provide another exercise and lifestyle program in partnership with YMCA, increasing the number of program options for our Port Hedland Leisure members.

"Move-It Hedland has proven to be successful, and it is always a pleasure to be able to deliver a fantastic program that is embraced by the community.

"We are hoping to attract higher numbers this time round, and promote the healthy living and balanced lifestyle message which is so important in Port Hedland, with many people working long hours.

"It is also a great opportunity to expand your social network and meet others who are also interested in living a healthy, active and balanced lifestyle."

All community members are encouraged to attend the sessions, held on Monday nights, which will alternate between Colin Matheson Oval and Kevin Scott Oval in South Hedland.
