Moreton Bay Back in Business

Following its recent closure as a result of an oil spill, areas of Queensland's Moreton Island have been reopened for access by permitted Commercial Tour Operators (CTOs).

The areas include the western beach from Tangalooma Wrecks north to Cape Moreton Lighthouse; the bypass roads around townships on the western beach, north of Tangalooma Wrecks and to Cape Moreton Lighthouse; and the Flinders Reef diving area.

Brisbane Marketing is working closely with both Queensland and Local Governments on the status of the clean-up efforts, particularly around Cape Moreton, and will provide regular updates and expected timelines as they are received.

Brisbane Marketing, in conjunction with Tourism Queensland and Brisbane City Council, is also developing a Moreton Bay 'recovery' campaign entitled 'Donate a day to the bay'.

This is a national causal campaign encouraging Australians to help Moreton Bay & Islands and its tourism operators get back into business by spending a day on the bay. The campaign will include advertising, marketing, digital marketing and a media relations campaign.
