More than 215,000 free tickets to Perth Zoo claimed via ServiceWA app
Western Australians are eager to secure a Perth Zoo Free Pass ahead of the school holidays with more than 215,000 tickets now claimed through the ServiceWA app.
The WA Government is providing every Western Australian with up to four free Perth Zoo tickets until 30th November as part of a $6.2 million cost-of-living initiative aimed at giving families a memorable day out for free.
Families of four will save more than $100 on tickets and more than $10 in public transport costs through the Perth Zoo Free Pass.
The offer has been highly successful in Perth's outer suburbs, reflecting the importance of the offer to everyday families. The highest claims by postcode include:
more than 10,000 tickets claimed in 6112, which includes Armadale and Piara Waters;
more than 8,000 tickets claimed in 6164, which includes Atwell, Jandakot and Cockburn Central;
more than 7,700 tickets claimed in 6065, which includes Darch, Landsdale and Tapping;
more than 7,400 tickets claimed in 6155, which includes Canning Vale and Willetton; and
almost 6,000 tickets claimed in 6107, which includes Cannington and Kenwick.
More than 12,500 tickets have been claimed across regional WA, excluding the Peel region, with tickets claimed from as far afield as Kununurra and Esperance.
More than 2,000 tickets have been claimed in Bunbury, more than 700 in Geraldton, and more than 600 in Albany. Separately, more than 5,000 tickets have been claimed in the Peel region.
The Perth Zoo Free Pass builds on a range of cost-of-living measures delivered by the Cook Labor Government this year, including free VacSwim lessons, the WA Student Assistance Payment, the $700 Household Electricity Credit, free public transport for school students and free on Sundays for everyone, the $500 KidSport program and boosting the Regional Pensioner Travel Card by an extra $100.
More than 800,000 people visited Perth Zoo last financial year - a new visitation record - underpinned by the WAGovernment's $51 million investment to upgrade facilities and attractions at the zoo.
