MiGym helps personal trainers and coaches transition to online business model

Adapting to the changed way fitness providers have done business as a result of circumstances that have been brought on by COVID-19, MiGym has extended its services to assist personal trainers and coaches transition to an online business model.

Built to helping gyms and studios connect with new members, the platform now supports personal trainers, nutritionists, yoga and Pilates coaches - and soon to include sport specific coaches - with additional features to provide the coaches with all the necessary tools to win in the online space.

Advising that the coaches profile looks, feels and functions as their very own website, Ryan Elliott, the founder of MiGym.com.au, explains “I’ve met and worked with hundred of personal trainers over the years, and although they are great technicians, most aren’t the greatest at building websites, creating marketing channels, ecommerce stores, SEO or lead generations strategies - so we figured we’d do it all for them.”

A premium profile on the MiGym.com.au website allows coaches to list their qualifications and specialties; sell customised training plans, whether that's one-on-one, face-to-face, or group session online; generate leads through general enquiries, downloadable free content, or an initial consultation. Some of the more unique features include the coaches own e-commerce store and blogging tools.

Elliott advises “every time a coach publishes a blog we showcase that content in our marketplace of blogs - and the same with the products, we have a MiGym store that lists all of our providers products, so our users can search through and connect with their ideal coach by purchasing their program.

“It could be a workout plan, eBook or video course - we try to provide coaches with all the tools they need to create additional income into their business.”

On MiGym.com.au, users can contribute often or every now and then, without the commitment and responsibility of a blog or own ecommerce store, publishing into a thriving, pulsing network - not a standalone web site, that the coach is responsible for maintaining.

Elliott adds “we’ve learnt that working with coaches will be completely different to gyms - coaches want to be educated, kept in touch with and nurtured through the process.

“Where gyms, for the most part, just want to see the dollars come in … it’s been interesting managing and supporting both sides of the marketplace.”

Looking forward he concludes “the fitness industry doesn’t have to be a zero sum game - for one business to do well, another doesn’t have to suffer.

“We can all thrive if we are open-minded, supportive of one another and encourage innovation and growth across all aspects of our industry.”
