Melbourne’s Luna Park introduces new attractions for spring school holidays
Preparing for its school holiday opening from 21st September, Luna Park Melbourne will be adding a new family ride family, the ‘Happy Swing' while also welcoming the return of the Great Scenic Railway plus a cinema collaboration with The Angry Birds Movie 2.
Luna Park’s General Manager, Matt Butta says he is thrilled to be introducing, the ‘Happy Swing’ to Luna Park’s set of rides and reintroducing the Great Scenic Railway following its annual winter hibernation for the spring school holidays.
Butta explains “the Happy Swing is made especially for our younger guests who can sit and enjoy the swaying whoosh of wind in their hair as they swing back and forth.
“The feeling this swing creates is one of happiness and freedom! I’m sure the grown-ups will love jumping on with their littlies to feel the joy.
“Along with the ‘Happy Swing’, the Great Scenic Railway is back from its annual heritage preservation works to take passengers along the dips and curves of its breathtaking one-kilometre track.
“The works that have been undertaken to date on the Scenic Railway are an extraordinary work in progress.
"This winter our team of dedicated specialist tradespeople have continued with the ongoing program of structure and track replacement, in particular rebuilding of dip number six of the track."
First opened in 1912, the heritage amusement park is also looking to celebrate its 107th anniversary before the end of the year.
