Magical Memories to complete the Melbourne Star Experience
The new Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, scheduled to open in late December, has partnered with Magic Memories to ensure guests can leave with a special photographic souvenir of their Star experience.
Magic Memories was founded in New Zealand in 1995 and partners with more than 100 major attractions around the world to offer unique photographic memories of guest experiences.
At the Melbourne Star, the partnership will provide guests with the option of a personalised, high-quality, exclusive photo book, allowing them to take home a customised detailed account of their experience. The book will contain three photographs and an online access card to download their visit to, and ride on, the Melbourne Star.
Melbourne Star Management Group Chief Executive Chris Kelly said the partnership with Magic Memories was one of a number of new initiatives and features incorporated into the Melbourne Star that would ensure it offered far more than a ride on a giant observation wheel.
Kelly explained "Melbourne Star will be a unique and important tourism landmark for Melbourne and our focus has been on developing a memorable and comprehensive guest experience.
"Magic Memories will be a key part of this."
Magic Memories Chief John Wikstrom said he looked forward to bringing his company's experience with major tourism projects and attractions to the Melbourne Star.
Wikstrom stated "we are delighted to partner with the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel.
"The Melbourne Star's core focus is on the guest experience and we have been working closely together to put in place an outstanding mix of people, products and processes to ensure every Melbourne Star guest leaves with a special memory they are motivated to share with friends and family.
"Personally, I can't wait to take the family for a flight on Melbourne Star."
Kelly said Magic Memories has an outstanding track record in adding value to their partners'attractions and brands by furthering the guest experience, adding "Magic Memories thinks and behaves like a tourism company and understands that the guest experience is everything.
"It is a valuable addition to the Melbourne Star experience."
The Melbourne Star Observation Wheel is currently undergoing commissioning prior to opening before the end of the year. Upon opening, guests on the Melbourne Star will enjoy uninterrupted 360-degree views for up to 40 kilometres, encompassing the Docklands precinct, Melbourne's CBD, Port Phillip Bay and as far as Mount Macedon, Arthur's Seat and the Dandenong Ranges.
The Melbourne Star Observation Wheel will be the Southern Hemisphere's only giant observation wheel and the first, more complex, solid steel wheel design to be built in the world to this size. At 120 metres high, the Melbourne Star is double the height of the West Gate Bridge carriage way and equivalent to a 40-storey building.
The Melbourne Star is owned by Sanoyas Rides Australia Pty Ltd and is managed by the Melbourne Star Management Group.
