Mackay's fitness industry gives consumers confidence and choice
Nine Registered Fitness Businesses in the Mackay/Whitsunday region have joined forces to encourage more people to lead a fitter, healthier lifestyle.
In a joint partnership with Fitness Australia, the nine businesses have funded a ten week television campaign for Fitness Australia's 'Exercise: Your Life Needs it' public awareness push.
Beginning on 16th January 2011, the industry association's television campaign seeks to encourage people to utilise fitness services in pursuit of a fitter, healthier Australia, while also raising awareness of the strong standards that exist in the fitness industry.
This fitness industry initiative has been rolled out across five major Australian cities, funded in part by the respective state governments, with it hitting Queensland television for the first time.
Fitness Australia General Manager of Operations Robert Barnes explains "this pledge is a testament to the registered fitness business owners in Mackay, demonstrating their cooperation with the national industry association and their commitment to industry standards."
In conjunction with the campaign, Fitness Australia have launched the 'Start Exercising' website to encourage Australians to 'Exercise Right' and take up exercise with a registered provider to support their everyday lives.
"The campaign website gives people the opportunity to find a Registered Fitness Business in their area. These businesses comply with the Fitness Industry Code of Practice and only employ Registered Exercise Professionals, providing more confidence in their professionalism, quality and safety," adds Barnes.
