Logan relaunches health and recreational program following easing of COVID-19 restrictions
Logan City Council has re-launched its popular health and recreational program - Live Well Logan - following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
The active and healthy lifestyle program will feature more than 120 activities across the city and include a range of fitness, sports and environmental activities alongside well-being and cooking workshops to choose from.
The program will embrace enhanced safety and social distancing measures in line with Queensland Health regulations.
City Lifestyle Committee Chairperson, Councillor Laurie Koranski said while the first half of the year had been tough, there was much to look forward to for the remainder of the year.
Koranski advised “keeping fit and healthy has never been so important and we know regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on mental health and well-being.
“Since we made the decision to cancel the program in March in line with health directives at the time, we have worked hard to put together a new program that allows people to maintain a healthy lifestyle in a safe way.
“As we approach the end of winter and with the days getting warmer, the timing to enjoy this fantastic program couldn’t be better.”
The activities are designed to suit everyone regardless of their age, gender, mobility or work schedule. Most sessions are $5 per person or less.
The program will run until 13th December.
