Lifeguard training conducted ahead of Cessnock pools' reopening
In preparation for the upcoming season, lifeguard training was conducted over two days at Cessnock Pool, with the seven-hour long sessions including CPR training and practical water drills to ensure the highest safety standards for visitors.
Cessnock City Council located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, will reopen Branxton and Cessnock Pools earlier than anticipated this pool season, providing the community with a refreshing escape as temperatures rise.
Cessnock pool will officially open its doors on Saturday 21st September 2024, operating weekdays from 6am to 6pm, and weekends from 7am to 6pm, until the end of the season on Friday 4th April 2025.
Branxton pool will reopen on Saturday 28th September 2024 and operate 6am to 5pm weekdays, and 7am to 5pm on weekends, until Friday 11th October 2024 inclusive. Following this, the pool will extend its hours to 6am to 6pm on weekdays, and 7am to 6pm on weekends, from Saturday 12th October 2024 until closing on Friday 29th March 2025.
Cessnock City Council Aquatics Facilities Coordinator, Chad McCamley, expressed his enthusiasm at welcoming the community back to the pools earlier than expected.
"I'm thrilled to announce the early opening of Cessnock and Branxton pools this season, and proud that Council provides residents with valuable community facilities such as ours," McCamley shared.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to provide our local community with more time to enjoy the water as the heat intensifies heading toward the summer months."
