Belgravia Academy launches successful pool lifeguard course and new promotion
Belgravia Academy’s first Pool Lifeguard course has been a noted as a “resounding success’, generating 20 bookings since its launch on 3rd April at Knox Leisureworks.
A pilot program, the first course involved seven participants chosen from Belgravia Leisure’s Victorian venues, including Yawa Aquatic Centre, Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre, Mill Park Leisure Centre, Keilor East Leisure Centre and WaterMarc.
The participants completed online e-learning modules developed by Belgravia Academy before attending the course. The day started with classroom learning and assessments, followed by practical assessments in the pool, including tows, rescues for different situations, and spinal and scenario assessments.
The day ended with a feedback session to recap the course content and delivery.
The participants were able to discuss how systems and processes are implemented at each venue, such as emergency plans and inductions, and where content can be changed for continuous improvement and best practices for Belgravia Leisure.
he course was so successful that the group had a team meeting the following week to discuss further continuous improvement.
