Life Floor completes splash pad safety surface installations at Adelaide’s Waterworld and Leanyer Recreation Park in the Northern Territory
Leading aquatic surfacing manufacturer Life Floor has announced the completion of splash pad safety surface installations at the City of Tea Tree Gully’s Waterworld Aquatic Centre and at the Leanyer Recreation Park - its first project in the Northern Territory.
The installation at Waterworld followed Adelaide-based aquatics construction company, Hydrilla, having been awarded the tender to redevelop the interactive splash pad for the City of Tea Tree Gully.
Five vibrant colours of tiles were specified in Life Floor’s Ripple 2.0 texture to cover the 135 metre² splash pad which adjoins a toddlers pool.
This custom design demonstrates how easy it is to create a wonderful, bright, custom design within a relatively confined area using Life Floor’s standard shapes and colours.
A popular destination for the community to cool off in the Darwin heat, Life Floor’s installation at the Leanyer Recreation Park saw its installation replace an existing splash pad and aquatic play space that had reached the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced.
Established local contractor, NT Surfacing, was awarded the tender to design and build a large, new splash pad featuring new water features and Life Floor surface.
Commenting on the project, Life Floor (Australia & NZ) Manager, Grant Burgess explained “Life Floor’s lagoon theme was chosen which uses shades of blue and turquoise to create a refreshing ocean-inspired palette which was then paired with some marine inlays to add play value and fun for children as they interact with the features.”
The surface at the Leanyer Recreation Park was installed by Grassports Australia (QLD).
