JUMP! Swim Schools to open more than six new sites in Western Sydney
With Western Sydney’s population growing rapidly and along with it the demand for children’s swimming lessons, JUMP! Swim Schools are set to open more than six new sites in the area during 2024.
The Greater Western Sydney region runs from Windsor in the north to Campbelltown in the south, and from Parramatta in the east to Penrith and the Blue Mountains in the west, comprising of 14 local government areas. JUMP! Swim Schools has earmarked sites at Glenmore Park, Caddens Corner, Leppington and Windsor just to name a few, in addition to seven sites that are already open in the region including Villawood, Seven Hills, Marsden Park and Box Hill.
According to Western Sydney University, the population in Western Sydney is projected to reach 3 million by 2036 and to absorb two thirds of the population growth in the Sydney region - making the region one of the largest growing urban populations in Australia.
With swim class wait lists still plaguing parents across Australia, JUMP! Swim Schools Chief Executive Mark Collins said there was room and a need for all of these new swim school sites, and more.
Collins advised “we’re seeing swim schools open in Western Sydney and other growth corridors and they are at capacity before their doors even open – the demand is that strong.
“In new growth corridors like Western Sydney, it takes time for councils to build large aquatic centres. We can have pools successfully built and operational very quickly ensuring franchisees hit the ground running with their business and parents can access life-saving swim skills for their kids without a wait time.
“The majority of new immigrants (60%) that come to Australia also settle in Greater Western Sydney. These parents are quickly realising the importance of teaching their kids swim skills given so many activities here revolve around the water and swimming lessons are very much a rite of passage for children in Australia. Many of our sites are also now running adult swim lessons for adults who many not have had the opportunity to learn to swim as a child.”
JUMP! Swim School franchisee Katrina Soleiman, who is soon to open her new site at Glenmore Park, said that the opportunity was very clear to her.
“I live in Western Sydney, approximately 20 minutes from Glenmore Park, and see a lot of growth happening as more people move west for affordability,” shared Soleiman. “I think there will be more opportunities for more swim schools in the area as there's already such a high demand.”
