Johnson Health Tech appoints new Managing Director of Australian Division

Leading global fitness equipment supplier, Johnson Health Tech has announced the appointment of Michael Conlan as Managing Director of its Australian office.

Conlan, who joins Johnson Health Tech with extensive experience across the sporting goods and commercial fitness industry, will oversee all operations of the Melbourne-based Johnson Health Tech Australia (JHTA) division, including sales, service and operations of both the home-use and commercial business serving Australia and New Zealand.

Conlan is a sporting goods industry veteran, having served in senior management roles for several global companies.

He spent 10 years with Nike in roles of increasing responsibility, including Australian Sales Director and Sub-Regional Sales Director for Asia Pacific and Africa before moving to Reebok where he served as Vice President of Footwear for Asia Pacific and was promoted to president of Reebok Korea.

In 2012, Conlan started a three-year stint as the Chief Executive for Australia Football League (AFL) Queensland, returning to the league in which he competed for 13 years.

Most recently Conlan served as President of Korea for Amer Sports, parent company to the Precor Fitness brand.

Announcing the appointment, Johnson Health Tech Co., Ltd Chief Executive Jason Lo stated “for Johnson Health Tech to become the biggest and best fitness company in the world, we must have world-class leadership in each and every subsidiary we operate.

“Michael’s proven results in his previous roles, including his experience in the sporting goods sector and commercial fitness industry, have prepared him to further build on the progress we’ve made in the Australian market, and I believe he will help us achieve our goal.

“We’re pleased to welcome him to the JHT family.”

Commenting on his new role, Conlan (pictured) stated “it’s an exciting time to join Johnson Health Tech.

“The company’s brands are strong; both the current product offering and the future pipeline are incredibly solid; and the global leadership team is truly committed to the Asia Pacific region. I’m honoured to help lead the Australian team to achieve the industry-leading results that I know it can.”

Headquarted in Taiwan, Johnson Health Tech, Inc. (JHT) is among the world’s largest and fastest-growing fitness equipment manufacturers and is home to some of the most respected brands in the fitness industry, including: Matrix, Vision, and Horizon.
