Australian Reptile Park hosts special dinosaur event series in June

The Australian Reptile Park is hosting a special dinosaur event series every weekend this June hoping to encourage NSW residents to use their remaining Discover NSW vouchers, which are due to expire on 30th June 2022.

The event sees the eight-foot-high animatronic dinosaurs -stars of Jurassic Zoo, the Australian Reptile Park’s popular summer school holidays event - make a special appearance.

Australian Reptile Park advise that a Tyrannosaurs Rex, Indoraptor and a Pachycephalosaurus will be ‘on the loose’ throughout the Park and the three species will take ‘daily walks’ in which children and adults are able to interact with.

Visitors will immerse themselves into a land before time as they witness the prehistoric prowess of the Park’s own ‘living dinosaurs’ – Elvis the saltwater crocodile and the Komodo dragons. Australian Reptile Park icon Elvis, a five-metre saltwater crocodile renowned to be the crankiest croc in Australia, will be fed every weekend during a thrill-seeking show.

Park-goers will also have the chance to walk with the Park’s resident Komodo dragons, Kraken and Daenerys, as they roam the Park every morning on their daily walk. In April, the Australian Reptile Park became the first zoo in Australia to successfully breed and hatch Komodo dragons, welcoming three tiny dragons to the family. The hatchlings are doing well and visitors will be able to see them very soon!

Australian Reptile Park Director, Liz Gabriel, is excited for the return of the dinosaurs in June enthusing “the dinosaurs are such a big attraction for our guests – the kids just love them! We’re thrilled to give our guests yet another reason to visit the Australian Reptile Park for some family fun on the weekend, as well as the chance to use their Discover NSW vouchers before they expire.

"In addition to their appearances in the Park throughout the day, our dinosaurs will also be joining in on our alligator photo session and we’ll also have free dinosaur face painting for our guests.”

Roving keepers at Australian Reptile Park will also be wandering around with a variety of scaly reptiles and cuddly mammals for guests to meet and greet.

To really get up close and personal with The Australian Reptile Park residents, guests can also use their Discover NSW vouchers towards an Animal Encounter, Behind-The-Scenes tour or one of the popular and interactive Kids 2 Keepers programs.

The Australian Reptile Park is a hands-on zoo located the natural bush setting of the Central Coast of NSW, only 60 minutes from Sydney or Newcastle. More information at www.reptilepark.com.au
