Jetts Fitness and Fitness Playground named among Best Places to work in Australia

Fitness operators the Fitness Playground and Jetts Fitness have been named among the Best Places to work in Australia by business management consultancy WRK+.

The Fitness and Lifestyle Group owned Jetts Fitness as named 13th among businesses with over 100 employees while Fitness Playground was listed at 14th in the businesses with under 100 employees category by the WRK+ survey.

Commenting on the recognition, WRK+ Chief Executive, Zrinka Lovrencic stated “these last 18 months have been like nothing any of us have experienced before.

“We are not only living but also working through a global pandemic. This current situation places a premium on organisations that are focusing on building inclusive, resilient, and empowered cultures. It is important to celebrate them as they continue to build the workforce of our future.”

WRK+’s citation for Fitness Playground, which operates six facilities in Sydney, advised “Fitness Playground continually looks for ways to improve their employee experience.

“Senior managers spend at least one day per week in each club, with the Managing Director sitting down with approximately 20 frontline employees per week.

“This creates a culture and understanding that senior managers are easily accessible to all employees should they want to communicate with them, and keeps management connected to the clubs, the teams within them, and ultimately the members who they work to service.”

The citation for Jetts, which has previously featured in the survey, read “with 174 clubs in Australia and over 100 clubs internationally, Jetts CEO Elaine Jobson set up a Facebook Group to share what she is doing day-to-day.

“This serves as a forum where the team can ask questions, provide feedback, and communicate directly with Elaine.

“Similarly, the group trainers have utilised their own Facebook group where they share with upcoming program formats.”

Welcoming the accolade, Jetts Fitness Chief Executive, Elaine Jobson stated on LinkedIn

“I could not be more proud of Jetts being placed yet again on the list of Best Places to work in Australia.

“It's been a tough year for the teams on the ground but they have continued to retain their passion and love for our members and our company.”
