Indoor ski slope offers 'ski for free' event

Melbourne's SkiCity, Australia's only urban skiing and snowboarding centre, is celebrating the upcoming start of the snow season with an open day on Saturday 5th May.

SkiCity, located in the Melbourne suburb of Cheltenham, features three endless moving ski slopes that can be set at an incline and speed suitable for beginners, intermediates or advanced skiers and snowboarders with instructors on hand to teach technique.

The centre also has the advantage of having no lift queues and no freezing wet weather!

Visitors on 5th May will be invited to try their hand with free skiing and snowboarding from 10.30am until 4.00pm.

The day will also include free yoga demonstrations in SkiCity's new yoga and fitness studio.

Offers on the day will include a competition to win a snowboard, lift passes to Mt Buller, winter clothing from the from Snow Monkey snow store and tickets to the new Warren Miller film Like There's No Tomorrow thanks to Warren Miller Entertainment Australia.

The SkiCity crew will also be skiing and riding for Lighthouse Foundation and the Disability Sport and Recreation Junior Winter Recreation Camp with a 24- hour charity marathon starting from 2.30pm.
