Imagination Play chosen as official playground partner for Bluey’s World

Imagination Play has been chosen as the official playground partner for Bluey’s World - a new immersive attraction based on the popular children’s television series Bluey - opening in Brisbane in November 2024.

Bluey’s World promises to transport fans into the heart of the world of Bluey, bringing a unique blend of interactive play, life-size sets, and a rich soundscape inspired by the loved ABC series.

Since premiering in 2018, Bluey has become the most-watched program in Australia and the US. It is also a top-streamed show in the UK and consistently ranks high on streaming charts in other regions, including Europe and Canada.

Imagination Play has designed and installed an engaging, creative and universal playground. It will allow families and children of all ages and abilities to explore various interactive areas, including slides, play panels, and bridges, and enjoy sections designed to mirror the episodes and unique settings from the show where Bluey, Bingo, and their friends often embark on their imaginative journeys. The playground’s design also focuses on letting kids ‘play their way’ in unstructured spaces that encourage imagination and self-directed exploration.

Imagination Play was chosen to deliver the project based on their extensive experience in creating spaces for children to explore, learn and socialise through play, and their ability to blend storytelling and play to fuel imagination, physical activity and adventure.

Imagination Play Director, Mark Batty, Director of noted “after 30 years working with schools, councils and parks across the country to deliver amazing play experiences, we feel Bluey’s World perfectly aligns with Imagination Play’s key capabilities, offerings and values of fun, safe and inclusive play with purpose. Bluey is such a widely loved show, it is so exciting to be part of the global sensation and play a role in bringing her world to life,”

At its core, the playground will reflect the themes of Bluey - family, friendship, and teamwork - creating areas where children are encouraged to play together, collaborate on imaginative adventures, and share in the joy of discovery.

A key factor in Imagination Play’s selection as the playground partner for Bluey’s World was their ability to prioritise and deliver designs that were inclusive and accessible while also meeting the park’s aesthetic direction. The playground designs have incorporated universal features such as wheelchair accessibility, activity panels with auditory feedback, and sensory play elements, ensuring the playground can be enjoyed by children of all abilities.

Imagination Play advise “the project aligns closely with our values and our extensive work with schools, councils and entertainment venues around Australia to keep local communities at the centre of play and fitness, creating safe, stimulating and inclusive environments containing exciting features and design elements.”
