Moduplay to construct Parkes’ first aquatic play space
Moduplay Commercial Systems will be constructing Parkes’ first aquatic play space to be located in Kelly Reserve with the project commencing on 14th February 2024.
Parkes Shire Council awarded the contract to Moduplay Commercial Systems who have designed the water play space to look like the Lachlan catchment, using rivers, lakes, dams, and even weirs and bores for inspiration. Signs throughout the space will tell the amazing story of water in Parkes, where it comes from and how it flows.
The design includes a splash pad, water fountains, wide bridges, trickling streams and other immersive elements including sand play, for those who do not wish to get wet.
Pleased to be bringing this highly anticipated project to the community, Parkes Shire Mayor, Neil Westcott stated "the water play space will be a wonderful addition to our town by offering an interactive and accessible area for people to engage in play, learn about water and cool off during summer months.”
This project is expected to be completed in early May 2024. During the construction period there will be modified pedestrian access to the current fitness equipment and playground and there will be no access to the construction area, which includes the shelter & BBQ area.
