Brisbane to host first Bluey’s World attraction
A new immersive attraction based on the popular childrens’ television series Bluey is to open in Brisbane next year.
Set to open in August 2024, Bluey’s World promises to transport fans into the heart of the world of Bluey, bringing a unique blend of interactive play, life-size sets and a rich soundscape inspired by the loved ABC series.
The animated show is produced and set in Brisbane and follows the adventures of a blue heeler dog and her family.
Spanning over 4,000 square metres, the purpose-built Northshore Pavilion will take visitors on a journey through a meticulously recreated world of Bluey, traversing from the iconic living room to the shaded Poinciana tree in the backyard. This immersive adventure extends beyond mere observation, inviting guests to engage in interactive play and celebration within the Heeler family’s household.
Seeing the attraction as boosting tourism in Brisbane, Queensland Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk stated “Queensland’s vibrant lifestyle and world-class amenities have been integral to Bluey’s global appeal.
“We’re now extending an invitation to fans worldwide to experience the charm of Bluey’s home in Brisbane.”
Brisbane’s Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner added “Bluey’s World is not only a tribute to our beloved Brisbane icon but also a major drawcard for international visitors.
“It’s poised to create jobs and stimulate our local economy, benefiting restaurants, hotels, and tourism businesses.”
Andrew Kay of HVK Productions highlighted the creative and theatrical aspects of the experience, adding “Bluey’s World is an innovative blend of theatre and interactive play, designed to delight audiences of all ages.
“(It will be) twice as big as any other immersive experience that's ever been in Australia.”
Created by Joe Brumm and produced by Ludo Studio, Bluey captivates audiences in over 60 countries and has become an Emmy award-winning phenomenon.
The attraction is a collaboration between Ludo Studio, HVK Production and BBC Studios supported by the Queensland Government and Brisbane City Council.
