Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures welcomes 5,000th Zip liner

The Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures has reached new heights with Australia’s highest zip line clocking up an impressive 5,000 zip liners since the all-new experience launched last December. 

Marking the ‘zipping’ milestone, Zipline Tour staff enjoyed a party among the treetops including cake and streamers –34 metres above the ground.

This achievement means that every one of the 5,000 guests who have successfully completed a Zipline Tour has contributed 250 metres to the grand total of 1,250 kilometres of zipline so far traversed on the course – that’s all the way to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures General Manager Ian Wood, said the 5000th zipline visitor was an important moment in the attraction’s history, and one to celebrate;

Wood explained “we are so delighted to have welcomed 5,000 guests on the Zipline Tour here at Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures.

“It’s been an extremely rewarding journey over the past six months to see guests from all around the world sail through the treetops and soak up the breathtaking panoramic views right out to the Pacific Ocean.

“All the staff here Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures are incredibly proud of reaching this unique milestone – and what better way to celebrate than a party among the treetops!”

The new experience has not only encouraged new visitors to the region, but also created job opportunities for 13 local residents who have been trained as safe and smiley professional Zipline Tour Guides.

Featuring panoramic views of the Southern Highlands and the Pacific Ocean, the heart-pumping Zipline Tour sees guests zip 10 storeys above the forest floor across 247 metres.
