Handler bitten by tiger at Dreamworld
An animal handler has been bitten by a tiger at Gold Coast theme park Dreamworld.
Paramedics say the man has been taken to Pindarra Private Hospital with two puncture wounds to the calf.
The incident is the second tiger bite this year but each incident has involved different handlers.
A Dreamworld spokesperson explained that the bite is "not significant at all. My understanding is (it's) one laceration to the lower right calf.
"They're at the hospital now getting the treatment so they might even be back by the end of the day or early next week."
The spokesperson said that the Park's management will review the incident, adding "when you're working with large animals you cop your bumps and scratches, just like cattle farmers do, and you know the same applies with tigers."
Earlier this month, Dreamworld introduced a new 'Tiger Feed Experience' giving guests the chance to hand-feed Dreamworld's tigers. The new experience is replacing the park's former tiger walks.
