Goodlife recognised as one of the world's leading fitness clubs

Australia's Goodlife Health Club chain has been listed by Club Business International magazine as one of the 'Top 25' fitness chains in the world.

The only wholly owned Australian fitness chain to appear on the global list compiled by the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), Goodlife Health Clubs appear in the categories of Number of Clubs, Numbers of Members and Revenue Growth.

Appreciating the recognition Goodlife Chief Executive Greg Oliver explained "this year marks ten years for Goodlife in the fitness industry and featuring in this list is definitely recognition of the hard work and dedication of all of our people over the journey.

"The recognition is even more pleasing when you consider the success has been achieved during one of the most competitive eras of the Australian fitness market.

"It's definitely a huge coupe and one worth celebrating."

The 2012 IHRSA Global 25 results reveals international performance trends for the industry with increased club membership in the United States, an upward trend and a year of continued progress across the board.

Oliver states "the numbers, in particular the membership growth confirm the resilience of the fitness industry and also provides further proof that membership and fitness programs are viewed as a necessity rather than discretionary items."

The global industry has shown significant signs of improvement and the Goodlife results are testament that hard work, commitment and passion pays off.

Oliver acknowledges that there's definitely been more interest than ever in the brand but their focus for the future hasn't changed, adding "we work really hard to compete strongly and to be the best at what we do in a competitive and dynamic market. Our success is attributed to the level of service being provided to our members by our teams.

"Our operators continually implement innovative and industry leading programs, to ensure members of the Goodlife family get a level of service that is above and beyond their expectations."

"We are not resting on our laurels, this year it's all about constant improvement in everything we do. This recognition further strengthens our resolve to maintain our brand of choice status in the Australian fitness industry."
