Goodlife opens 24/7 club in Toowoomba

Goodlife Health Clubs has opened its latest gym in the Queensland town of Toowoomba, offering state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, a dedicated Functional Training Zone and child-minding services.

Opened on 17th December, the club is on level two of the city’s Grand Central complex, near Rebel Sports, and also offers a group fitness studio with more than more than 60 classes in its weekly schedule and yoga and cycling studio. With members having 24/7 access, it also offers a member's lounge, showers, an ironing station, hair dryers and hair straighteners for people heading to work after their workout.

With more than 80 locations across Australia, the new club is the first regional Queensland location for the popular brand.

Fitness and Lifestyle Group Head of Property and Development Ashley Rowe said the new club’s design aims to create an environment akin to the outdoors.

He advised “the whole design of a Goodlife club is to bring the outside in.

"Many people are gravitating to training outside but are put off by the heat.

"We have incorporated earthy tones and live plants throughout the gym - the design of the club is modern and slick.

"(Our) clubs are designed to keep up with the fitness trends. They used to be very cardio-centric, but now the design also caters for functional training.”

Club Assistant Manager Tanielle Thompson advised "it's exciting for Toowoomba people, especially those who travel for work as they can take their gym membership with them.

"Toowoomba is so dynamic and it deserves something like this. People here like good service and we are great at that. (This) is the perfect space for us."

The lead up to the opening saw Fitness and Lifestyle Group ambassador Emily Skye attend a promotional event to encourage members.

Fitness and Lifestyle Group Chief Executive Greg Oliver is featured in the latest issue of Australasian Leisure Management.
