Goodlife Health Clubs to invest $2.5 million to redevelop Ashgrove facility
In what will be the largest renovation of any club in the brand’s history, Goodlife Health Clubs is to invest $2.5 million to redevelop its club in the Brisbane suburb of Ashgrove.
The leading fitness club brand will be transforming the club with the addition of a dedicated MIND BODY studio with virtual classes available at the touch of a button.
The architecturally-designed fit out, undertaken by Donnan Consulting, will see the current location double in size to span more than 2000 metre² and will attach a significant focus on ‘bringing the outdoors in’, with natural timber and vertical gardens creating a bright, fresh feel for the club.
Phase one of the project was completed this month and offers members access to a brand new functional training zone, reception, child minding and upgraded cardio and strength equipment – just to name a few.
Goodlife Health Clubs National Property Manager, Ashley Rowe, said this was the most substantial refurbishment the brand had made since its inception in 2002.
Rowe explained “we pride ourselves on staying at the forefront of industry innovation and are passionate about giving our members the best possible experience every time they enter one of our clubs.
“As a result, we’re commited to evolving with the trends in the health and wellness industry, and our dedicated new MIND BODY studio in the Ashgrove club is a perfect example of this.”
Phase two of the build is set for completion in October and will feature an onsite HYPOXI studio, a dedicated MIND BODY studio fitted out for barre classes, and a duathlon-style cycle studio.
Rowe added “phase two of the build will focus largely on amplifying our current group fitness offering at the club, with the addition of multiple training studios and classes, each targeted at delivering specific results for our members.”
The second phase of the build will also see the Ashgrove facilty offer 24/7 access, building on the 45 clubs across Australia offering this convenience for Goodlife members.
Situated on Waterworks Road in a busy retail precinct alongside a plethora of coffee shops, supermarkets and trendy eateries, the refreshed Goodlife Ashgrove will be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood.
With the results of a strategic review of Goodlife Health Clubs being undertaken by parent company Ardent Leisure expected to be released in the coming weeks the investment in the Ashgrove club solidifies the brand’s commitment to growth.
