GESAC signs up its 10,000th member
Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) has signed up its 10,000th member.
GESAC Manager GESAC Mark Collins said the Centre is now one of the most popular leisure facilities in Australia as it has been built to provide something for everyone in the Glen Eira community.
Collins stated "we are now averaging 3,000 visits per day making GESAC the largest council run sports and aquatic facility in Victoria.
"More than 4,000 of our members are aged 12 and under (they are members of the Learn-To-Swim Program) or over 50.
"The gender distribution is 52% female and 48% male."
The Centre caters for all age groups and includes a gymnasium; a separate room for dynamic group exercise classes; a mind and body studio; a cycling studio; an eight lane outdoor 50 metre pool; an eight lane indoor 25 metre pool; a leisure pool and two thrilling waterslides; an aquatic wellness centre with warm water therapy pool; spa, sauna and steam room; three multi-purpose courts; and a café, consulting suites and retail shop.
