Sound West Conference to bring together innovators in technology, entertainment and the arts

Music, creativity and learning are set to converge in Parramatta as part of conference that aims to stimulate the night-time economy of Greater Sydney.

Part of a wider festival of music, creativity and learning centreing on Parramatta, the Sound West Conference at CommBank Stadium on Thursday 25th August will connect technology brands with artists, musicians and promoters, with the potential to engage the creative arts and entertainment spheres in Western Sydney and across Australia.

The conference will feature 35 keynote addresses and workshops with a program including Fonzie Gomez talking with founder of Finder Fred Schebesta on cryptocurrency and entrepreneurship; Australian of the Year and Paralympian Dylan Alcott sharing his experience building the world’s most accessible music festival, AbilityFest; Culture Kings Chief Executive Simon Beard talking about how to build a streetwear empire; and co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Linktree Anthony Zaccaria explaining the Linktree journey and building a global digital business used by millions of people every day.

The conference also includes workshops and sessions with Triple J Unearthed and a Music NSW First Nations Meet Up, as well as workshops on TikTok content creation and creating safe spaces.

Running from 20th to 28th August, the wider Sound West program will feature more than 15 live music events and programs (a mix of industry and general public events) across various venues headlined by rising rapper Masked Wolf; hip-hop artist and producer L-Fresh the Lion; musician, singer, songwriter and rapper A.Girl; and musician, poet and rapper Nardean; as well as songwriters Khaled Rohaim and Styalz Fuego.

Acclaimed NFT artists Bianca Beers and Time Out Future Shaper Serwah Attafuah also feature along with podcasters Flex Mami and Froomes.

Sound West is organised by Premium Media and has been created through a partnership between the NSW Government via Destination NSW, City of Parramatta, Western Sydney Business Connection and Business Western Sydney.
