Futurist announced as keynote speaker for Gymnastics Clubs Australia’s first National Congress

Gymnastics Clubs Australia (GCA) has announced that world Futurist medallist, Dr Liam Mayo, will be one of the Keynotes at its first National Congress - to be held at the Amora Hotel Riverwalk, Melbourne from 21st to 23rd February 2022.

Dr Mayo, who has a PhD in Futures Studies and Strategic Foresight from the University of the Sunshine Coast, recently placed second in the international Association of Professional Futurists 2021 PhD thesis recognition awards.

Noting this as an exceptional achievement, USC Dean of Graduate Research Professor, Stephan Riek advised “this is outstanding recognition of the research and critical thinking skills of our students, who were competing against some of the world’s leading emerging thinkers on global current trends and their implications in the future.”

Dr Mayo (pictured) will be presenting twice at the inaugural GCA National Congress, on ‘Strategy: Beyond Change Management. Business-Workforce in time of uncertainty’ and ‘First Trust: Leadership for a New Global Culture’.

GCA Chief Executive, Ross Gage advised that, as an added benefit is that "Liam has extensive experience in the very similar swim schools industry and his children love their gymnastics classes".

GCA is the peak industry association for gymnastics clubs in Australia uniting Clubs through education, advocacy and community.
