Football registration dispute resolved on NSW Central Coast
Central Coast Football (CCF) has resolved a dispute over player registrations and insurance matters with Football NSW and Football Australia that had threatened to see the association and its players deregistered from competition.
CCF. the governing body for football on the NSW Central Coast, with 14000 players, had developed its own player registration system, which according to local clubs is many times better than the Football Australia national registration process.
In addition, CCF had also sourced its own insurance which they claim covers more, has more coverage and is a lot cheaper than that offered by Football NSW and Football Australia.
With all Central Coast facing deregistration from organised football in both NSW and Australia, the matter has now been resolved, with Football NSW issuing a statement that “CCF will remain as a member of the FIFA affiliated Australian football family.”
Released last week, the statement continued “the Central Coast region has played an integral role in the development of Australian football and CCF will continue to deliver community football with Football NSW and Football Australia’s full support.
“During recent discussions, the support of local players, referees, coaches, and volunteers has remained the key focus for all involved.
“Reaching an outcome that keeps CCF as a valued member of the wider football family will help ensure the ongoing development and growth of the game throughout the region.
“The relationship between all parties has been strengthened through this process and we look forward to being active across the fields of the Central Coast in 2022 and beyond.”
The terms of how the dispute was resolved were not disclosed.
The dispute did not involve the Central Coast Mariners.
