Fitness First invites teenagers to stay fit during the school holidays
Teenagers across Australia are being encouraged to use Fitness First clubs across Australia for free during the upcoming school holidays.
All 79 Fitness First clubs will open their doors free of charge to all those aged between 14 and 18 years throughout the holidays, inviting them to take part in FFIT Holidays (Fitness First Initiative for Teens), with no membership necessary.
The free program runs each day of the holidays at all 79 Fitness First clubs, and welcomes all teens to come in and familiarise themselves with a variety of gym equipment and Group Exercise classes, to learn to have fun with fitness in a supported environment.
Fitness First National Personal Training Manager Michael Cunico, said that teaching kids the importance of being active every day and forming healthy habits early on is the key to brighter, fitter futures.
Cunico explains “now, more than ever before, Australian kids are less and less active, ranking among the worst in the world for physical activity levels.
"We need to encourage teens to develop healthy lifestyle habits from a young age, as exercising stimulates happiness, energy, confidence and focus which are so important – and what better opportunity than to get involved for free!
“We want to teach kids to make fitness a priority so that they can harness the positive benefits and go further in all areas of life.”
Students have no excuse to be bored as Fitness First has a number of new classes and the latest fitness innovations on offer, from Small Group Training, Shockwave and Pro Cycling, to some of the old favourites such as Zumba and Body Balance.
The FFIT Holidays program offers:
• The opportunity for school kids aged 14-18 the opportunity to work out at any of the 79 Fitness First Clubs across Australia during the school holidays for free – no membership required
• A 45-minute induction on club protocols and on how to use the equipment safely; only teens aged 16+ are permitted to use weights and strength equipment
• A fun, friendly and safe environment to learn about fitness and good health
• Fitness experts on hand to provide assistance and advice
Teens interested in taking part in the FFIT Holidays program can call or visit their local Fitness First club to book their induction appointment.
