Fitness First targets teen market
With the July school holidays now underway, Fitness First is again is inviting 14 to 18 year olds to use its clubs for free as part of its Fitness First Initiative for Teens (FFIT) Holidays program.
Seeking to "make a difference to the lives of young Australians", the FFIT Holidays program allows teenagers to make use of Fitness First clubs during the school holidays, making use of a variety of gym equipment and to also participate in group exercise classes.
To be part of the program, teenagers must attend a 45 minute induction, bring a completed pre-exercise questionnaire signed by a parent or legal guardian over 18 years of age, be wearing comfortable shoes and clothing, and bring a water bottle and sweat towel.
Once their induction is completed, their pre-exercise questionnaire has been signed by the Personal Training Manager they will be a FFIT Holidays Membership Card to use the club during FFIT opening times in the holidays.
For those aged 16 years and older, their induction will be 20 minutes longer so the participant can be shown how to safely use the weights and strength equipment.
Through the FFIT program, Fitness First aims for "every teenager to improve their fitness, health and lifestyle," with FFIT Ambassador Geoff Huegill adding "the FFIT program is a great way for teenagers to engage in physical activity. Teens can work at their own pace and find exercises and classes that they enjoy, and best of all - it's free!"
Fitness First also offer the FFIT Schools program for year seven to 12 students in secondary schools across Australia.
This program invites schools to use Fitness First clubs once or twice a week and participate in organised group exercise classes facilitated by our highly qualified fitness instructors.
The program is aimed at getting more teens more active, more often and promotes healthy activity in a non-competitive and non-intimidating environment.
