Busy fortnight of leading professional development conferences in New Zealand

New Zealand’s leading industry associations for fitness, recreation and venues are holding their major annual conferences in the second half of November, making for a busy fortnight for industry professionals.

The New Zealand Recreation Association’s National Conference will take place at Te Papa in Wellington from Wednesday18th to Friday 20th November, with the theme of Navigating Recreation.

The conference will cover the role of wellbeing and recreation; access to open spaces, parks, trails, playgrounds and community sport facilities; who will you be providing recreation services to in the future and issues of risk.

Exercise New Zealand’s annual FitEx conference will features the latest in science and business for every facet and role within the fitness industry – from facility owners though to exercise professionals.

Exercise NZ expect that FitEx 2015 will again attract 400 facility owners/managers, personal trainers, group exercise instructors and other industry professionals, to one of the highlights of the New Zealand fitness and exercise industry calendar.

FitEx, which also links with the annual New Zealand Fitness Awards, is being held at AUT University in Auckland on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November.

The magnificent Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch, rebuilt after the 2011 Canterbury/Christchurch earthquake, is to be the main venue for the 2015 Entertainment Venues Association of New Zealand (EVANZ) Annual Conference, being held from Monday 30th November to Wednesday 2nd December.

This busy period also sees the 2015 Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand Summit being held at Wellington’s Shed 6 on Thursday 19th November and finishes with Sport New Zealand’s Connecting Coaches being held in Auckland from 4th to 6th December.

Connecting Coaches is a landmark convention seeking to lift the capability of coaching right across New Zealand’s sport system.
