Federal Government backed industry development program to offer inaugural ‘Fitness Business Bootcamp’ in Sydney

Employment, recruitment and training specialists Asuria is to launch a pilot ‘Fitness Business Bootcamp’ in Sydney on 20th and 21st May - aimed at providing new and emerging fitness businesses with information and advice on how to set themselves up for growth and success.

The free two-day workshop, part of Workforce Australia’s Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) program will deliver skills and training on matters including increasing revenue to industry leading levels, generating new revenue streams, build a brand and raising profile and increasing operating efficiencies.

A pilot program that, if successful will be rolled out across Australia, attendees will not only leave the course with invaluable tips to help take their fitness business to the next level, but they’ll also gain access to 12 months of one-to-one business coaching sessions and online workshops at no cost through Asuria’s Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) program.

Dan Wortley, National Project Manager - Self-Employment Assistance, at Asuria advises “with a market size of $1.9 billion, and a growth rate of 4%1 per annum over the past five years, the gym and fitness industry in Australia is in good health, though that alone doesn’t guarantee the survival and success of any individual business.

“That’s where Asuria’s Fitness Business Bootcamp comes in, delivering highly targeted, industry-specific insights and advice from experts who have been helping Australian small businesses and start-ups for over a decade.”

Asuria Fitness Bootcamp Coach, Rob Lyon, says of the course “I’m a firm believer in accountability, enjoyment, and consistency. Find something to commit to, make it accessible and enjoyable, and stay the path through both the good times and bad.

“These are the true pillars to success.”

The Fitness Business Bootcamp does have eligibility requirements.

Asuria
For over 20 years Asuria has had real success in partnering with employers to help recruit suitable and prepared candidates. Prior to presenting job-ready candidates to employer, Asuria mentors, trains and upskills candidates through government funded pre-employment training programs.

Workforce Australia
Workforce Australia is an Australian Government-funded network of organisations contracted by the Australian Government, through the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, to deliver employment services to unemployed job seekers on Government income support payments and employers.

The Self-Employment Assistance (SEA) program
The Self-Employment Assistance program helps individuals turn business ideas/existing small businesses into viable businesses. The program allows participants to choose the level of support that meets personal needs and the needs of small business.

Self-Employment Assistance replaced the New Business Assistance with NEIS program in July 2022.
