Facility Management leaders to provide an interactive forum for local venue and event managers
Returning to the Gold Coast for the second consecutive year, the MSAC Institute of Training is presenting 'Successful Sport Facility Management: from Concept to Reality', on 21st and 22nd June.
The event program provides an outstanding opportunity for delegates to observe and learn from leading experts with practical experience in the conception, planning, design, construction, establishment and operation of major sporting facilities.
The program is lea by the MSAC Institute of Training, an education provider managed by the Victorian State Sport Centres Trust (VSSCT) and draws on the expertise of the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) and State Netball Hockey Centre (key venues from the 2006 Commonwealth Games) and Victoria's newest world-class multi-purpose sporting facility; Lakeside Stadium (pictured).
The program has been well received again in 2012, proving timely with the recent 2018 Commonwealth Games announcement and related major facility development on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
Delegates representing a number of Queensland councils and sporting bodies including the Gold Coast, City of Logan and the 2018 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee will be attending the program and are set to learn practical tools relating to each phase of the planning, operation and legacy of major facilities and events.
The 'Successful Sport Facility Management: from Concept to Reality' program provides a rare chance to network with leading industry professionals from across Australia. It's an exciting time for Queensland and the Gold Coast, and the VSSCT is thrilled to be able to impart their knowledge and major event experience.
Beyond this week's event, Trust will continue to tailor their programs in line with the development of the Gold Coast's sporting infrastructure to commit to an annual education series.
Designed for senior executives, governing body representatives, facility operators, venue managers, event managers, project managers, organising committee members, architects and builders, the program is presented as a two day workshop delivering a specialised education package derived from the MSAC Institute of Training's flagship four day International Sport Facility Management Program (ISFMP).
Set to be presented for the sixth time, from 11th to 14th March, the 2013 ISFMP will be hosted in line with the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix event on site in Albert Park and is sure to again attract delegates from major sporting facilities all over the world.
