Esperance’s Bay of Isles Leisure Centre reopened after upgrades
The aquatic area of the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre has reopened after a three-week-long closure that finalised more than a year of planning and work to upgrade systems.
Advising that the Council was pleased with what had been achieved during the upgrade process, Shire of Esperance acting Director of External Services, Richard Hindley told the Kalgoorlie Miner “this isn’t just a reopening of the aquatic area, it’s the outcome of a lot of hard work to change our heating from reticulated gas to more economical heat pumps, as well as many more upgrades such as the new control panels.
“With all this work completed, the Esperance community now have an aquatic centre with the latest in technology, partly powered by solar energy, and all set for the future.”
The aquatic area closed on 26th January, with the reopening last Wednesday having been preceeded by a brief delay as approvals from the Western Australian Department of Health were obtained.
