LIWA Aquatics launches Western Australian Aquatic Recreation Industry Awards
Aiming to recognise individuals and teams who show innovation and best practice in Western Australia’s aquatic recreation industry, peak body Leisure Institute of Western Australia (Aquatics) has launched the WA Aquatic Recreation Industry Awards.
The awards are designed to highlight and award excellence of Individuals within the aquatic recreation industry, aquatic facilities, their staff and organisations and provide an opportunity to formally recognise their commitment to improving aquatic recreation communities, programs, facility operations, management and safety.
The awards provide a powerful motivation tool to encourage ongoing professional development for individuals, organisations and building community engagement.
The Awards will recognise excellence in the following categories:

Pool Lifeguard of the year
Aquatic Supervisor of the year
Sole Operator of the year
Emerging Leader of the year (18 - 30 years)

Sustainability Award
Watch Around Water Facility of the year Awards (Metro & Regional)
Aquatic Facility Safety Award
Nominations for the inaugural WA Aquatic Recreation Industry Awards will open on Friday 1st April with the Award ceremony to be held on 30th June 2022 at the Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough Beach.
