Countdown to 2022 LIWA Aquatics Conference

With a theme of ‘Change’, the upcoming 2022 LIWA Aquatics Conference is not only addressing transformation in the aquatic industry but is also to be staged at a new venue - the Perth Convention Centre - while also introducing new cohorts for swim teachers and swim schools into its program.

The conference is also backed by an all new website.

Keynote speakers at the event include Dr Craig Challen who, in 2018, along with his dive partner Richard Harris, was involved in a cave rescue operation in Thailand to evacuate 12 children and an adult from the flooded Tham Luang Cave system; Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) Chief Executive Christina Matthews and Laurie Lawrence, the legendary Olympic swim coach and founder of water safety program Kids Alive.

The program also includes presentations on Australia’s Water Safety Strategy 2030, Creating Business Value from customer data for aquatics, Pool Tiling from an aquatic engineer’s perspective and Culturally Aware Aquatic Centres.

Looking forward to the event, LIWA Aquatics Executive Officer, Steve Good advised “this year’s program have been prepared to be inclusive of the aquatic recreation industry as a whole and provides important professional development for pool operators, pool lifeguards, swim teachers and swim school operators for industry accreditation, training and qualification requirements in Western Australia.”

The LIWA Aquatics Conference has for over 50 years provided professional development opportunities to stay across new developments and network within the aquatic industry.

The LIWA Aquatics Conference is being held during a busy week for the sector with the Aquatics and Recreation Victoria 2022 Industry Conference being held from 3rd to 5th August and the National Water Safety Summit being held in Sydney on 4th and 5th August.
