Dinosaurs break Vector Arena attendance records

Auckland's Vector Arena's hosting of 'Walking With Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular' has broken all international box office and attendance records during the phenomenally successful event's four and a half year world tour.

Vector Arena's had an unprecedented attendance of well over 90,000 plus patrons when it hosted the event earlier this month, surpassing even New York's Madison Square Garden sales of 84,000 tickets. This incredible achievement not only sets a new attendance record for the venue, but also surpasses the venue's box office record (previously held by Simon and Garfunkel).

Following sell-out concerts by Katy Perry and Bruno Mars this year, Roger Waters' upcoming 'The Wall Live' performances are continuing the trend of setting sales records at the Vector Arena.

This week, Waters' performance trounced the current record for a multi-night run at Vector Arena by a music artist (previously held by Justin Timberlake). Now into an extraordinary fourth sold out night, the speed of ticket sales in Auckland has surpassed every other city on the Australasian tour for the former Pink Floyd frontman.

Now in its fifth year of operation, with New Zealand based entrepreneurs Bruce Mactaggart and Stuart Clumpas at the helm, Vector Arena is firmly established as a major destination on the international concert and event circuit.

As Vector Arena General Manager Brendan Hines explains "Vector Arena is called the 'Entertainment Hub' of the South Pacific for good reason.

"Our facility is world-class; we have a motivated and experienced team of people who understand the New Zealand entertainment landscape and are extremely effective in assisting promoters and producers by ensuring they are offered every advantage with marketing and promotion as well as ensuring the artists' have a memorable experience on tour."
