David Aitchison and Mel Tempest elected as AUSactive Directors

AUSactive has announced that Mel Tempest of Ballarat Health and Fitness and David Aitchison of Body Fit Training have been elected as Directors of the peak body.

In a statement, AUSactive that the pair will be joining the board “following a very competitive and close vote”, commenting “we extend our congratulations to David and Mel and are looking forward to them joining the Board at the upcoming AGM on 20th November 2023.

“We thank the remaining candidates for their applications and commitment to AUSactive. With such a high calibre of candidates that contested this year’s election, we see as an endorsement of the role that AUSactive plays to lead and elevate the Australian health and exercise industry.

“We acknowledge our Business Members who participated in this vote, which achieved a record vote count - thank you for contributing your feedback and supporting the work of AUSactive.”

AUSactive also thanked “all our volunteer Directors”, offering thanks to departing Directors Greg Oliver and Edwina Griffin, adding “Greg and Edwina’s passion for the industry has shone, as they have generously volunteered their time to advancing the strategic direction of AUSactive and the entire industry.”
