Creative Australia to invest $170 million in 159 organisations

From 2025 to 2028, Creative Australia will invest $42.4 million per annum in 159 organisations arts and cultural organisations, providing employment pathways for creative workers and strengthening Australia's arts and cultural sector.

The organisations to benefit from Creative Australia's multiyear investment has increased by 45 compared to the previous (2021-2024) cycle. Among the outcomes, there is an increase in investment in First Nations, youth and disability led groups, and those based in regional Australia.

Creative Australia Chief Executive Adrian Collette shared "From the cities and suburbs to regional and remote Australia, arts organisations make a vital contribution to Australian arts and culture. The strong competition for this investment highlights the immense talent and vision of our small to medium art sector.

“This investment will enable more organisations to plan with longer-term certainty, to realise their artistic programs and present Australian works that delight and challenge audiences and communities at home and internationally."

The $42.4 million boost includes investments through Creative Australia's Four Year Investment for Organisations program, Visual Arts Craft and Design Framework, and allocated investment in Delivery Partners - a new stream of investment to support services for the arts and cultural sector.

This investment supports the aims of the Australian Government's cultural policy: Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place.

It will support arts organisations across the country, including:

• Inala Wangara, a First Nations owned community development organisation in Queensland

• Tutti Arts, a South Australian organisation where disabled and neurodiverse artists explore various art forms

• Express Media, an Australian literary youth arts organisation based in Victoria

• Australasian Dance Collective, supporting Queensland's dance sector with performance and development opportunities

• Cementa, a regionally-based artist run initiative in NSW

• Through the Visual Arts Craft and Design Framework, investment was approved for artist run initiatives in every state and territory, supporting the grass roots of the visual art sector.

• Contemporary Asian Australian Performance, a NSW based theatre company creating exceptional Asian Australian works for all.

• Second Echo Ensemble a Tasmanian based multi-arts organisation that challenges pre-conceived notions of ability through interdisciplinary works

• GUTS dance // Central Australia, a unique contemporary dance platform in Alice Springs/Mparntwe.
