Country Pool Managers Conference set for Lake Macquarie
The 2014 Annual Country Pool Managers Conference will be held this week at the Club Macquarie on the NSW Central Coast.
Being held from Wednesday 14th to Friday 16th May, the event will start with a training session on Wednesday morning focussing on ‘Safety in your Business Operations’.
Doug Stanic of Orica will cover typical aquatic centre incidents involving sodium hypochlorite, caustic and chlorine (gas and granular) and other related chemicals. His session will cover good plant design, best practice and the importance of procedures and risk management.
With his facility having been the first to achieve 100% in the RLSAA Safety Audit, Karl Kreiss of Southern Aquatics will share his experience on how he approached the Audit each year and what challenges he had to overcome.
Craig Burns of AquaBliss Swim Schools will share his approach to meeting compliance issues and safety to grow a swim school business.
Martin Stratford of Aflex Technology will share how to best use pool inflatables to build water confidence, repeat business and a safe family-friendly environment.
Having been a contributor to the conference for 12 consecutive years John McKenny of Maquatic, will this year provide technical assistance and documentation to validate the delegates participation in the sessions.
Thursday and Friday's presenters will outline a range of Program Funding opportunities, Management Initiatives and Public Relations/Media Training all aimed at improving patronage at aquatic facilities.
The NSW Country Pool Managers first came together in 1996 to provide an affordable conference and 'get together' for country based Pool Managers. Through this forum, all communities large and small could benefit.
Their first conference was held at Mudgee in 1997 and attracted 70 pool and 15 trade delegates. Since then attendances have steadily increased with recent events attracting over 150 managers and 30 trade displays.
