Cool oasis in the midst of stifling Sydney weather
BIG4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park in Sydney's Northern Beaches suburb of North Narrabeen took some of the sting out of Sydney's recent heatwave with the pre-Christmas opening of its Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds' Splashpad.
The zero-depth facility has proven to be a haven for families looking for a cool spot to play in the mists, sprays and dumping buckets of this 180 metre2 spashpad.
Featuring soft mists, bubbling features and gentle sprays within the toddler area and more powerful (but still safe) watercannons, dumping bells and mists in the family area the BIG4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park is the epitome of family fun.
However, Splash pad not only delivers on fun as it is designed to be environmentally conscious, with its main source of water comes from rain collected from within the park to top up the required body of water lost through evaporation; while also treating the water within the system to maintain potable standards.
The system us also linked to a system of solar panels, meanings that the Splashpad will be open for year-round fun with the water heated to a balmy 27 degrees Celsius.
The BIG4 Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park received a Highly Commended in the 2012 Greater Sydney Tourism Award in the Tourism and Caravan Park Category.
