Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds introduces a new way to play

Taking its cue from happy childhood memories of sun-showers, puddles and the joy of dancing in the rain, Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds' newest design line 'Ombrello' features red and yellow coloured interactive and twirling umbrella-shaped water features that are set on long brushed stainless steel tubes.

Combining multiple Ombrellos together creates a one-of-a kind centrepoint for splashpads, spraypoints, zero-depth water spray grounds, waterparks and aquatic facilities.

Introducing the product range, Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds Business Manager Ron Swaab, states "this new design line enables architects and designers to create truly influential concepts in aquatic play.

"We all have 'dancing in the rain-type' memories, and this design line, brings it into the urban space, making it a focal point for communities or commercial playareas."

Ombrello's interactive play features mean that users can control the Ombrello Twirl No.1 and No. 2's spiralling water effects thanks to another innovation, Vortex's new free-spinning technology.

As a user spins the soft-touch rotating sphere, water pouring over the feature's Seeflow dome flies further and wider creating an impressive water effect.

Also released this month is Vortex's first ride-on aquatic play features, the Spin No.1 and Ombrello Spin No. 1 & No. 2. Using Vortex's new load bearing Spindle, users are able to sit or stand on the play feature's platform while pushing off the ground with their feet to make themselves spin around and around. This creates the effect of not just playing under the sprinkler, but becoming part of it.

These new play features and innovative interactive technologies encourage active free play, physical development and collaborative play, all while safely contained within a zero-depth aquatic facility that encourages exploration and fun.

Electronic brochures are available for both of the product ranges.

For a limited time, the Vortex Aquatic Playgrounds team is offering a free-of-charge, no obligation design and complimentary 3D render for proposed playgrounds.
