Clublinks secures management contract for Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre
Clublinks has been selected as the management operator for the Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre, following a competitive tender process.
The initial three-year contract (with option to extend to December 2030) makes Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre, the fifth City of Darebin site that will be operated in partnership with Clublinks.
Clublinks’ relationship with the City of Darebin began in early 2022 with the management of the newly constructed Narrandjeri Stadium, followed by an additional three sites commencing in 2022 and early 2023 (Darebin Community Sports Stadium, Bundoora Park Public Golf Course and Northcote Public Golf Course).
When completed, the Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre will offer indoor and outdoor heated pools, an 800m2 health club, group fitness studios, café, creche, outdoor fitness training area, and ample parking including electric vehicle charging stations.
With five sites all under one management operator, members of the community will benefit from reciprocal access rights including a holistic membership product for all venues.
Clublinks Chief Executive Anthony Lawrence stated that the facility held tremendous potential and was excited by the opportunity to demonstrate innovative programming and community engagement activities targeting diverse groups, with a strong emphasis on increasing health, wellbeing, and inclusion outcomes for the local Darebin community.
Lawrence notes “The Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre has been a key hub of the Darebin community for many years. And with the exciting new construction, we are eager to build out the facility offerings further through activities and events that will attract people from all over the community.
“We are market innovators and pride ourselves on our ability to anticipate the changing wants and needs of the community, ensuring our sites are inclusive and accessible to everyone.
“The Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre will embody a true community hub in which all members of the community feel welcomed.”
