Client Injury sees Bounce commit to removing climbing feature at Oman facility

An accident at the recently opened BOUNCE trampoline park in the Omani capital of Muscat, which saw a 10 year old boy suffer serious injuries, has seen the company announce that it is committing to closing down the climbing feature at the park once they are authorised to do so.

Following the incident last week, BOUNCE released a statement advising “this is an extremely distressing time and we want to assure you that we are doing everything in our control to take action. We are deeply saddened for the accident that occurred.

“‘We took the decision to close the Oman venue, which is the only regional venue with this climbing area, with immediate effect and are working closely with the local authorities as well as an independent safety advisor.”

The statement added “although the investigations are on-going which prevents us from providing a detailed update, we wish to make a clear statement to the community that regardless of the outcomes of the investigation we will remove the activity once we are authorised to do so.

“Each of our venues are run by parents, brothers and sisters that care deeply about every visitor and this injury is felt deeply by us all.

“While we cannot change the situation, we can make sure that we always adhere to strict safety measures and are taking serious steps to reaffirm the safety procedures with all members of the team.

“We will be approaching the relevant authorities to ensure they are confident with the action we have taken, and we will work closely with them.  We know there will be many concerned parents out there, and as parents ourselves, we want you to know that the safety of our visitors is our number one priority.”

Established in Australia, as the local market has stalled BOUNCE has found consideerable success with franchised trampoline centres internationally, particularly in the Middle East, now operating at 32 venues across four continents.

Opened in June in the suburb of Al Ghubra, the Muscat attraction features more than 80 interconnected trampolines, a free jumping arena, dodgeball courts, big bag, parkour area and the climbing wall.
