City of Swan undertakes $2 million extension of Swan Active Ballajura

Construction is now underway by the City of Swan for its $2 million extension of Swan Active Ballajura (previously known as Ballajura Aquatic Centre) which will see a new gym and an accessible family changing room being built onto the existing facility.

These upgrades will complement the beach entry pool; a 25 metre pool; spa; and cafe.

To be completed in mid-2021, City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said the new facilities at Swan Active Ballajura would offer the local community more opportunities to lead healthier lives.

Mayor Bailey notes “the Swan Active brand signifies our commitment to creating a more active City of Swan – both physically and socially.

“One of the many ways the City promotes and encourages local residents of all ages and abilities to live healthier lifestyles is through the participation of activities at Swan Active.

“The new additions to Swan Active Ballajura will support our active community and provide strong social benefits for years to come.”

The City of Swan operates three multi-use leisure facilities to cater for residents health, fitness and social needs, focussing on high quality customer service in a relaxed and friendly environment. Alongside Swan Active Ballajura, City of Swan operate Swan Active Beechboro previously known as Altone Park Leisure Centre, and Swan Active Midland previously known as Swan Park Leisure Centre.

Swan Active Ballajura is located within the Ballajura Community Hub. The existing facilities will remain open throughout the construction period.
