Choice Hotels Asia-Pacific named on 2021 AFR Boss Best Places to Work list

Choice Hotels Asia-Pacific has been recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand's best places to work in the 2021 AFR Boss Best Places To Work List. The prestigious annual list, published by The Australian Financial Review and Boss Magazine, is determined by a rigorous assessment process managed by Australia's leading behavioural science consultancy, Inventium.

Choice Hotels Asia-Pacific was awarded number two ranking in the Retail, Tourism, Hospitality and Entertainment sector on the AFR Boss Best Places to Work list from a shortlist of over 1000 organisations across Australia and New Zealand who completed a submission.

Shortlisted organisations were assessed based on staff surveys and written submissions, with questions related to organisational policies, practices, and programs which actively supported employees. The assessment methodology is underpinned by Inventium's Workplaces of the Future framework, which identifies ten key factors critical to employees feeling motivated and engaged at work.

Choice Hotels was recognised for its achievements around key policies and practices, including additional mental health leave days for each employee, a quarterly wellbeing subsidy for staff to utilise towards things like a gym membership or other wellness initiative, free weekly yoga (on-site pre-COVID-19 and virtually throughout 2020), and free monthly on-site massages.
